Hello! Thanks so much for playing! Which spooky meeting do you mean? Theres a lot of spooky meetings in the game, the game is basically a delivery mechanism for spooky meetings!
I'd question and want to also ask, have you contemplated how the 'Full Games' saves system should work? How likely is it you'd decide between a save system where:
1) The game saves every time you sleep/wake up Only
2) To keep the saves the way they are.
If you were to do 1 - it'd increase difficulty 'and' horror/tension but not be F&H-levels of ball-crushing because 'you know where your bed is and its always a safe zone' like a Resident Evil typewriter room.
Yeah! In the latest version it prompts a save when you go to bed, actually! But I feel that as long as the game isn't stable and relatively bug free, its best to let people save anywhere and have autosave for the time being, if only to help them keep their sanity a little bit as the game falls apart in their hands. But yeah, once this is closer to being all finished, I will probably shift to saving only upon sleeping, that would be the most appropriate to the games overall pacing I think.
Sure! I do the same thing! I think you can follow this project to see when I update it somehow on itch? - you can also follow me on twitter (@FrancisCoulombe) or bluesky (frankiepixel.bsky.social) , or join my discord (link in the game description).
If you're into horror rpg turn-based games you will definitely get a kick out of this! The mouse controls can be a bit wonky, but it's not going to ruin the experience. Can't wait to see the progress on this game and a possible ending!
Yeah! Tenement hell was a jam game that didnt really come together, so this was an attempt at making a very different kind of game that captures a similar vibe.
heh, yeah. made him pretty scary presence actually since he just appears in rooms constantly after the first meeting, often in the stairwell and near entrances. me and my friend have dubbed him the "softlock man"
Thanks for playing! I noticed while watching the video, a lot of the object interactions seem to be unreliable with the mouse/touch controls. Im wondering if I should turn these off, or if too many people prefer playing with the mouse despite that problem...
Wanted to ask especially for confirmation but, what are the chances that Saves can be kept without issue and be transferred to newer versions without breaking? Or would you advise that people stick with their versions and if they play a new one to start a new game?
hey why the rapiers so cheap, it ruined my game. other than that i love it. and if its to let use choose whether we want to deal with breakable items, no make that a options menu toggleable not in game item. also love it. theres also the touch stuff, this would be great on mobile. mobiles not got alot of stuff like this. they are coming but its still rare. also did i mention i love it only game ive download and used a keyboard with just to play it
Hello! Yes, the way shops work right now is just not balanced very well yet. I want to build a shop system that has a finite inventory, so you can only buy a limited amount of each item, but until then, the shops will be a bit broken.
Thank you! As for that one choice option, hey... you had other options.... don't blame me... :)
As for bug reports, I havent set up a public place for it, but I probably should. Maybe ill use the github issues system for it? For now, I have a discord with a channel dedicated to the game, people have been posting bug reports there - https://discord.gg/xg9wtQcfZk - or alternatively, you could post bugs in this thread here.
(I could also switch the comment section to a discussion board? but idk feels a bit early for that)

Hello! Discovered your game recently and so far I really enjoyed it so far!
Just posting this comment because I met a bug which I think is related to the spooky meeting. After meeting it the screen stays black.
I wish you to have a happy day!

Oh sorry for tha vague post, I just didn't want to spoil for others! The one with the white mask which is not speaking

What are you thinking about it?

I agree - even though I know a part of me suffers by knowing 'I can lose so much progress by trying to satiate my morbid curiosity-'.
It's a 'necessary evil' in a way for games of this type imo.
Neat game!!!!! I love the style and I love the use of body horror
Thank you!
Where can we follow you for game updates? I'm very interested in this game but I'm waiting for the project to be finished before I play :)

damn. made it to the last day, but nothing happened. it just started going into the negatives after that.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, theres no endings yet, working on that!
ah, thanks for clarifying. also was this game actually inspired by your previous project tenement hell?
Yeah! Tenement hell was a jam game that didnt really come together, so this was an attempt at making a very different kind of game that captures a similar vibe.
what does the useless status effect mean?
this is a lot like tenement hell. sad there's no mascot head though.
Theres actually a mascot head, but I didnt place it anywhere yet, hah!
wow really? hope i can find it when you do add it in!
Really good game, but i got softlocked when i found the mask thing again, it just looked at me and then do it again infinitely
heh, yeah. made him pretty scary presence actually since he just appears in rooms constantly after the first meeting, often in the stairwell and near entrances. me and my friend have dubbed him the "softlock man"
interesting little game.

There should only be minor issues if you move over the saved game, it should be largely compatible!

also tell me if im wrong and just not understanding.

I think I've gotten as far as I can in the current version. I got the store key and went in, buuut there are no events to get back out.
Also for one choice option in particular, you MONSTER. ; w ;
Also, where would you like bug reports? I'm seriously excited about this game and have been loving playing through it.
Thank you! As for that one choice option, hey... you had other options.... don't blame me... :)

Weird how little attention this is getting, hope I can help out with some publicity - so far I'm loving it.
Mission accomplished.
I'm quite intrigued and I'll probably be following more uploads of this game by you in the future.
:D! I'll be Thorough, calm and do my best/usual.
A significant Part 2, I actually really like how the 'Teeth apartment' has a story to tell and its pretty sad to see, a bit.
Part 3 and more! Huge game! Watch if you wish to see more of my gameplay and blind exploration! Great stuff!
And the Last/Part 4 - Lots of stuff shown! (Lots of WIP discovered especially but I get it) :P Fun to ponder about what it'll all be.
awesome!i like it!
